Any situation where there's a risk to safety — total loss of power, burning smells, sparking or scorching near sockets or the consumer unit, circuits that won't reset, or electrical damage caused by a flood or fire. If you're unsure whether it's an emergency, call us and describe what you're seeing. We'll advise you honestly.

Depending on demand, we can usually reach you within a couple of hours. Because we work across Sidmouth and East Devon daily, we're often closer than a national firm would be. We'll always give you an honest estimate when you call.

If there's any immediate risk — burning smell, smoke, or you suspect damage from water — turn off the main switch at your consumer unit if it's safe to do so, and leave the affected area. Don't attempt to investigate or reset anything yourself. Keep warm, keep safe, and we'll be with you as soon as possible.

We aim to. We carry a range of equipment and parts to handle most common faults on the first visit. If the repair requires parts we don't have with us, we'll ensure as much power as possible is safely restored before we leave, and arrange a follow-up as quickly as possible.

A nuisance trip that resets and stays on is usually not an immediate emergency, but it does need investigating — something on that circuit is causing it and it will likely get worse. If the RCD trips and won't reset, or trips again immediately, that's more urgent. Call us and describe what's happening and we'll advise you on the best course of action.
